The Danby marble quarry is located in the Taconic Mountain Range of Vermont and has been producing high quality marble for over 100 years. It has a rich history and an unsurpassed reputation for excellence. The 1 ½ mile deep mine is the largest underground marble quarry in the world – capable of producing 4,000 square feet  of marble slabs per day.

In 1992 the operation of the mine was taken over by Vermont Quarries Corporation – extending the 100 year tradition of producing the highest quality marble. Vermont Quarries has also achieved Greenguard Certification for its production of Danby marble – and they qualify for LEED Certification as well.
